How do I start writing a book?
Begin by brainstorming ideas that excite you. Outline your plot, develop your characters, and set a writing schedule to stay on track.

What caught your attention in the stories you enjoy?

How do those stories begin?

How did they organize their book?

What-if Questions You can Ask

Often, when I first get an idea for my book, I'm daydreaming and asking a lot of "what-ifs":

What if the sun was exploding? (Premise of my next novel, written with my partner Bryce HP, “Ascension”)

 What if they had superpowers?

What do you wish existed that isn’t already out there?

Once you have a rough idea, don’t hesitate to get feedback.

This helps you figure out what works and what doesn’t early on.

For example, “How to Write and Publish Your Book Step by Step” came about because people would ask me all the time “how do you write a book?” So I knew this topic would have a higher reach.
